The large central square, the Place de la Comédie, was bustling this morning. Montpellier can be reached within the hour from Magalas. You can park in the centre , or on the outskirts and enjoy a tram ride through this beautiful city right into the centre.
A short stroll from the house is the lovely Bistrot La Galerie serving simple good food . Its a great spot for lunch or supper and very reasonably priced. Their new 2017 menu should be up soon , and when it is I’ll post it here. In the summer the table and chairs crowd around the church in the square for al fresco dining.
It’s lovely to sit in front of the fire – there are wood burners in the sitting room and kitchen which make the house extra cosy on cold winter evenings. The house has oil fired central heating through out, we are always warm in the winter months.
It may be chilly outside but the house is toasty-warm. With thick stone walls and wooden shutters to keep out the cold in winter and the sun’s blistering heat in summer, the house is welcoming all year round.
Magalas Town Hall in January 2017. Skies more blue than blue. Azure at its very best.
It was -5 this morning but skies so bright and blue
This is a place well worth visiting. There are beautiful walks, including all around the lake
This is what we are waiting for.
We spent many a lazy day by the river Orb
